J&T Bank (Switzerland) Ltd., member of the financial J&T Group, hereby announces a change in the board, which aim is to enforce the cooperation between the individual banks within the Group. The Management Board members of J&T Bank Prague, Patrik Tkac and Stepan Aser, have been elected to the Board of Directors to replace the two previous members, Andrej Zatko and Tomas Martinec. Dr. Catrina Luchsinger Gähwiler, as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mr. Markus R. Tödtli, as Vice-Chairman will remain in their present functions. "The present changes on the board of J&T Bank (Switzerland) Ltd. are part of our endeavour to enforce the mutual collaboration of the individual banks on all markets in which J&T operates."Jozef Tkac, president of J&T Group, comments this change. J&T Group’s objective is to render complex services associated with Private Banking as well as managing assets of private and institutional clients, Investment Banking and the financing of various projects. It primarily operates in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland and Russia.
Dr. Catrina Luchsinger Gähwiler is an attorney at law and partner with the law firm Froriep Renggli. She specialises in financial market law and corporate law and advises banks, asset managers and investment funds on regulatory issues as well as contractual aspects. Her work also covers debt financing and equity capital market transactions. She studied at the University of Zurich, where she also gained her PhD. She is a Swiss and British national living in Zurich.
Markus R. Tödtli, Vice Chairman and Audit. Markus Tödtli started his banking career back in 1969 with Credit Suisse (former SKA) and joined Bank Hofmann AG, a fully owned subsidiary of SKA, in 1975. He became CEO as of January 1st, 1993. He stood down from this executive position at the end of 2001 and was elected Vice Chairman of the Board. As a consequence of the merger of Bank Hofmann with Bank Leu and Clariden Bank (today Clariden Leu), Mr Tödtli left the Board and joined an Independent Asset Management firm as a partner. Amongst other mandates he is a member of the Board of Aquila Investment AG. Markus Tödtli is also working "pro bono" for various non-profit organisations.
Patrik Tkac graduated from the faculty of Business Informatics at the University of Economy in Bratislava. He acquired the broker licence at the Institute of Education in Banking at the National Bank of the Slovak Republic and became one of the original members of J&T Securities s.r.o. which used to trade with securities. He is the front representative of the Financial Group and he is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of J&T Finance Group a.s., CEO of the J&T Group as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of J&T Banka a.s. Stepan Aser graduated from the School of Business and Public Management at George Washington University in Washington DC focusing on Finance and Financial Markets. Subsequently, he graduated from the MBA at Rochester Institute of Technology, USBSP. He operated as analyst on the Czech market starting in 1997 and later as Portfolio Manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management. From 1999 until 2002 he was a member of the Board of Directors at Commerz Asset Management and responsible for managing portfolios and sales. He shortly specialized in Asset Management of institutional clients at Ceska Sporitelna. He has been working at J&T Bank since 2003 and is now in the position of the CEO and a member of the Board of Directors.
