The changes on the Board of Directors of J&T Bank Switzerland
Dr. Catrina Luchsinger Gaehwiler, previously Vice-Chairman and Audit Responsible of the Bank, has been named Chairman of J&T Bank (Switzerland) Ltd, since Mr. Alexander C Notter, stood down from the Board and Chairmanship of J&T Bank (Switzerland) Ltd, after he contributed to the successful accomplishment of the reorganization of the Board and the Management and the strategic reorientation of the Bank in Zurich, in order to dedicate his time to his other business interests in European finance and industry and strategic advisory services.
Mr. Notter commented: “Since my joining the Board, J&T Bank (Switzerland) Ltd gradually evolved into a high level Private Banking service provider to entrepreneurial clients primarily in Central and Eastern Europe, where it benefits from the enviable network of it’s parent, J&T Group. The Bank is now uniquely positioned by a new, well qualified management, relying on the strong support from its well diversified, solid shareholder. I wish the bank all the success it deserves for enhanced growth in an exciting market environment.”
Mr. Patrik Tkáč, founder of J&T Group in Prague, the parent company of the Swiss Bank, commented: “We are very pleased about the appointment of Dr. Catrina Luchsinger and we regret Alexander’s decision to stand down from the Board of our Swiss Bank. We thank him for his most valuable contribution over the last 18 months to transforming our Swiss bank into an ideal platform from where we can develop further our services in our preferred markets. I wish both, Catrina and Alexander, great success in their respective responsibilities”.
Alongside the change in Chairmanship, two new members joined the Board of the Bank as well. Mr Tomas Martinec is handing over his former function “Head of Private Banking” on an “ad interim” basis to Robert Boukal, CEO and represents the shareholder with immediate effect on the Board whilst Mr Andrej
Zatko from J&T Group stays confirmed.
New Board Member, Vice Chairman and Audit Responsible is Markus R. Tödtli, born 1946, from Zurich. Markus Tödtli started his banking career back in 1969 with Credit Suisse (former SKA) and joined Bank Hofmann AG, a fully owned subsidiary of SKA, in 1975.
After various positions in different departments of this bank, Markus Tödtli became CEO as of January 1st, 1993. He stood down from this executive position at the end of 2001 and was elected Vice Chairman of the Board. As a consequence of the merger of Bank Hofmann with Bank Leu and Clariden Bank (today Clariden Leu), Mr Tödtli left the Board and joined an Independent Asset Management firm as a partner. Amongst other mandates he is a member of the Board of Aquila Investment AG. Markus Tödtli is also working "pro bono" for various non-profit organisations.
