Watermen Do Not Object to Development of the Karloveské Rameno River Branc

Memorandum of Understanding

Water sports and recreation have their typical place at the Karloveské rameno river branch. Watermen respect the needs of developing the capital city and Karlova Ves. Unless such development presents a threat to the preservation of water sport traditions on the river branch and it is conducted in the correct terms of the neighbourhood, the watermen do not wish to hinder such development.

Plans of Karloveské rameno, s.r.o. to develop the area of Karloveské rameno river branch have a direct impact on the activities of the Water Sports Club in Karlova ves. The published intentions are a vision that does not include detailed solutions for all the key issues. The company Karloveské rameno understands the interest of the watermen in future fate of this area and their efforts to raise awareness about concerns stemming out from the future development plans in regards to the further existence of water sports in this territory. Both parties think that direct debates are a more effective way of seeking solutions suitable both for the investors and the watermen,therefore the parties shall prefer direct communication in the future instead of discussions by means of media.

In addition:

Karloveské rameno, s.r.o. guarantees that it will take into consideration basic requirements defined by the Water Sports Club in Karlova ves in the future development of the Karloveské rameno river branch, namely:

1. It shall provide an access road for public use leading to the water area of the Karloveské rameno river branch, with parameters enabling access to the water also by trucks or buses.
2. In terms of construction of a new dock-yard to be built by Karloveské rameno s.r.o. and to be transferred to Karlova Ves quarter, the company will create a sufficient number of storage premises to store all the vessels kept by the Water Sports Club, which are stored now at the area of the dock-yard.

Based on the guarantee to comply with these two requirements, members and representatives of the Water Sports Club in Karlova Ves are not opposed to development activities of Karloveské rameno, s.r.o. in this site and they will not proactively present their opposition to such activities.

Considering the preparatory stage of project documentation for constructing a new dock-yard and development of the Karloveské rameno river branch, there are several alternatives how to fulfil the commitment made by Karloveské rameno, s.r.o. and it is not possible to indicate in advance which of these alternatives will be eventually implemented. Considering this,Karloveské rameno, s.r.o. commits to consult selected solutions with representatives of the watermen covered by the Water Sports Club in Karlova ves and to invite them to discussions on selection of solutions for implementation.
