J&T Cooperates with Ricardo Bofill
Ricardo Bofill, famed architect, is the author of PANORAMA CITY project. Peter Korbačka, chairman of board of directors in J&T REAL ESTATE, a.s. announced this on the occasion of revealing the cornerstone in the project.
"In my opinion, in urban development projects, such as PANORAMA CITY, it is the duty of a developer to behave responsibly and to bring architecture that will enrich the city also in cultural terms. Therefore I am more than happy to have Ricardo Bofill, who has been recognised as a legend of world architecture, in this project," says Peter Korbačka.
"Bratislava is a small big city. I like it a lot. It has a beautiful old centre, it is built upon a river, located in the middle of Europe, undergoing changes and developing. It was a challenge for me to work here and to contribute to its changes," says Ricardo Bofill.
Ricardo Bofill is a key representative of European postmodernism in architecture. Christian Dior, Cartier, Decaux, Axa, J.P. Morgan have their headquarters designed by him. He is the author of the Olympic Village and the Catalan National Theatre in Barcelona and projects like Shiseido, Bank One and the Donnelley with hundreds of his projects dispersed from Japan up to the U.S. His studio gained respect by urbanistic studies for Paris, Luxembourgh, Warsaw, Madrid and Beijing. He is a holder of several honorary doctorates and a number of international awards. He is an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects and the German Union of Architects. PANORAMA CITY will be a part of the new future centre of Bratislava on the banks of the Danube. It will contribute urbanistically to the existing buildings in the zone that includes the new building of the National Theatre, Eurovea project and Tower 115.
PANORAMA CITY will comprise a square lined by a terrace with restaurants, cafés, a park with plenty of greenery, a 4* hotel and office premises. From the sixth to the thirty-ninth floor above ground will offer exclusive housing with splendid vistas. PANORAMA CITY Towers, 135 metre high, will be the highest buildings in the territory of the former Czechoslovakia.
The project is named PANORAMA CITY because dwellers and visitors will be offered a unique view of the panorama of the capital city and its broad surrounding, whereas its height would enrich the panorama of Bratislava. The word CITY describes comprehensive services and features contained in the project.
Project preparations have already started by building a utility lines collector for the Tower115 and PANORAMA CITY projects. A pyrotechnic survey will be done in the subsequent period, followed by foundations for specific buildings to be done in 2008. Project completion is scheduled for 2011.
J&T REAL ESTATE belongs to leaders in real estate development.
