TATRA CABLE CARS

Cable cars are an environmentally-friendly and, in the alpine environment, often the single means of transport. The company TLD currently operates chair lifts, cable cars and funiculars in the ski resorts of Tatranská Lomnica, Jamy, Starý Smokovec, Jakubova lúka and Liptovská Teplička.

In an effort to improve the enjoyment of skiing, the reconstruction of downhill tracks at Lomnické Sedlo, Jamy and Skalnaté Tarn is in preparation for 2007 to 2010. The reconstruction will include the construction of a snow cannon system and the modernisation and completion of cable car stations. The highly valuated geological and biological diversity of nature in the Tatras requires careful treatment and cautious human interventions. Therefore only renowned and experienced specialists participate in expert environmental and landscaping studies. We also contacted Andreas Wenzel, the world-renowned skier and owner of a reputable marketing and consulting company specialising in the construction of ski resorts. The project is also consulted with the Tatra National Park Administration, Tatra National Park State Forest Agency, the town of Vysoké Tatry and preservationists on an ongoing basis.
